What are Magnetic Lashes?

Magnetic eyelashes are false lash strips that have a strong magnet on the band. They come with a liquid liner that attracts to the magnet on the lash band, so all you have to do is line your eyes with the liner then apply the magnetic strip to where the liner is and the lashes will adhere.

How do you Apply Magnetic Lashes?

It’s a lot easier for some people to do magnetic eyelashes than to deal with the mess and hassle of lash glue. Most people are comfortable enough with liquid eyeliner to get this first step done. Then after that, all you need to do is line up the lash strip with the natural curve of your eye and set in on the liner. If you aren’t super comfortable using a liquid liner, I suggest practicing with a non-magnetic liquid liner before attempting to apply Magnetic Lashes.

Are Magnetic Lashes Safe?

Yes. It’s not a problem with the magnets adhering to your eyelid skin, as long as the liner doesn’t accidentally penetrate into your eye. Magnets do not cause any kind of disruption in your eye movements or your vision.

The ingredient found in most Magnetic Lash liners is iron oxide. Iron oxides are mineral deposits and can cause staining of the skin. However, it is in a variety of makeup and skincare products (including eye shadows and normal eyeliners) and is regulated by the FDA.

How to clean magnetic lashes:

It is very important to keep your lashes clean between uses. There are a lot of bacteria lurking in your natural eyelashes, so keeping things clean is important to reduce conditions like allergens, stys, and pink eye. Plus, dirty lashes won’t adhere very well making it frustrating and making them more likely to lift off throughout the day.

After you have properly removed the magnetic lashes from your eyes use makeup remover to take off the magnetic eyeliner. Now, it is time to clean the magnetic lashes. Each time you wear your magnetic lashes, it is important to take a few additional minutes to properly clean them.

The first step is to wash your hands to make sure you aren’t transferring oils or bacteria to your lashes. Next, you’ll need:

Once you’ve gathered your supplies, you’re ready to clean your lashes. You’ll want to start by removing any of the magnetic eyeliner residue from the lashes. To do this, dip a cotton round into the oil-free eye makeup remover. Using gentle pressure, rub the cotton round back and forth over the lashes on the band. It’s important to use an oil-free cleanser, or your magnetic lashes might fall apart.

To remove the eyeliner from the magnetic strips, dip the tip of a cotton swab into the isopropyl alcohol. Gently rub the alcohol-dipped swab along the magnetic strips to remove lingering eyeliner.

Using the tweezers, place the magnetic lashes on a clean, dry towel or tissue. Let them air dry; don’t rub them dry with a towel or tissue.

Bathrooms can be very humid, so it is best to let your lashes air dry in an environment with lower humidity, like a bedroom.
